Photography Workshops

“I believe creativity is within all of us, and when we connect to it, we connect to our true self”

My drive and commitment to living a creative life have inspired me to share this drive with others as a Creative Mentor. I mentor adults in the creative development of photography projects and camera skills.

I share my knowledge by speaking at events such as Ladies Wine Design and Nikon’s Refocus Retreat about my creative process and journey in becoming a photographic artist.

I host private tuition and public group classes in Canberra and Melbourne.

Let’s have a chat about what drection you’re looking to take your creativity.

Grace takes a holistic approach to photography mentoring – something I didn't expect, but
have definitely valued. Lessons ranged between the evolution and history of the art of
photography, camera and hardware function, lighting, composition, editing, working with
people and good business practice – all of which have contributed to my personal and
professional development. While Grace willingly tailored our lessons to suit my skill level, she
also challenged me to move beyond my comfort zone. Her flexibility, knowledge and high
standards have definitely made me a better photographer.

Grace has been the warmest and engaging teacher, she has made it so easy to learn and
has never once made me feel uncomfortable. She has encouraged me beyond belief. Her
natural teaching style and our strong rapport means we have fun every lesson too. What I
have really appreciated is that Grace took the time to find out what I wanted to get out of the
lessons and from there she tailored each one around my desired learning outcomes. Because
she has so much experience photographing many different subjects and genres, she is
always able to give specific examples of how she 'uses' the camera in those situations – this
made me connect the dots much faster.

I’ve never liked getting my photo taken so wondered if going to the effort and paying for a professional was really for me. From the moment I first spoke to Grace she put me at ease advising what to wear and how to do my makeup. She was fantastic during the shoot, clearly knew her stuff and was very patient with my awkwardness. She got the photos back to me promptly and they are all fantastic. If you’re nervous, I say do it anyway, it’s worth it!

I had a great time at the workshop. My husband and I both learnt heaps and walked away not only feeling more confident with how to use our camera, but more interested in pursuing it. Grace’s slides were very helpful and she explained each of the concepts in plain language so that we were able to keep up.
